"Why do you always get to tell me what to do"
"Because I''m the boss"
"Who do I get to be the boss of?"
"sorry bud, you don''t get to be the boss of anyone"
"Can I be the boss of Mallory?"
"Can I be the boss of the dogs?"
"No bud, Scarlet bites remember....she is the boss"
"Well, I cannot wait until I grow up so I can be the boss of myself"
We had another great weekend where the potty is concerned. I even took her to a baby shower with me and even though I had her in pull ups she ASKED to go potty and did not even freak when she realized it was a big potty with no sissy sized seat on it. She just let me hold her up over it and she took care of business! Her teachers at school are even letting her nap in panties...but we still have a diaper on her at night.
We have decided to (hopefully) send Pierce to a charter school close to where I work. He is all registered....just need to wait to see if he gets in...they give me the impression that it wont be a problem. I can''t believe I have registered my baby for Kindergarden....he cannot be that old already? The only thing is....he is SO excited to ride the school bus but if he goes to this school it is 4 minutes from where I work so he will most likely be picked up and dropped off by me. I suppose we will have that fight later though....
Potty training continues to go very well! Aside from bed time she is not wearing a diaper at all. Granted, we have not had to GO anywhere other then daycare to see if we are brave enough to take her out in panties. Our one hurdle to get over is she will only pee pee in the potty. Everything else must go in a diaper at night. That is not much fun
Mallory began potty training book camp this weekend. Such a brat this one. I had Pierce potty trained in 2 days flat...Mallory is a little more strong willed then her brother. We started out Sat AM and she did pee on the potty....you would have thought she cured cancer with the fuss we made. M&M''s soon followed. About 30 minutes later after telling me she did NOT have to go potty she peed on the kitchen floor.....then told me she was "berry berry done going potty" Potty total for Sat--3 times in the potty, once on the floor. Sunday she TOLD me she wanted to go potty as soon as we woke up. She did! We did have to go to my mom''s yesterday so I had to put her in diapers. Today....the kids are home with Joe. First thing this morning she did go potty and then told Joe she gets her M&Ms...Joe said "oh no sweetie, not this early" I was all "YES SHE DOES!!" We will see how today goes. He has never had the pleasure of dealing with potty training since Pierce was done over a drill weekend. Let alone with a little girl. May the force be with him.
When I got to school today Ms Beth handed me a list of "sight words" that the kids in Pierce''s class are starting to learn. As you can guess this makes me SOOOO excited. I want both of my kids to love to read as much as I do. We read to them every day. He can already recognize words like mom, dad, dog, cat and of course his name. Yeah Pierce!
TGIF!! We are hoping to have a play date this weekend at the church that we had Pierce''s party in but the weather may not cooperate. I hope so though because with drill weekend it is always in everyone best interest (mine and the kids) if we get out of the house for awhile. If not, maybe we will play in the snow (ew). We are making very slow progress in the whole potty area. Going through clothes like crazy at day care because they keep her in panties most of the day. She did go on the potty yesterday at school so we may be up to about 3 times now. Sigh. Just today I sent in some paperwork to try and get Pierce into a charter school in Westerville that has all day kindergarden. I can''t believe we are dealing with this already and that Im going to have a kid in SCHOOL. Yikes. Hopefully he gets in, it is a great program and is also only about 4 minutes away from my office. Keep your fingers crossed!
A lot of new pics in the Jan 09 album. Joe has been VERY busy this weekend completing operation big girl room...the only thing missing is the bed which we will put up once we get a mattress. I have to say after a LOT of drama in finding a border I could not be happier with the way it turned out. Another project we have inherited....Joe''s mom gave us her old dollhouse from when she was little (man that is old...hahahaha) that either her father or her grandfather made. It is a MESS but I am SO happy to have it, we are pretty much going to strip it and start all over. Funny, some of the close up shots I took of the inside of the house kind of look like a crime scene. I am so glad that Judy trusted us with what is sure to be a family heirloom. You probably wont see pics of it again for about a year (or 2) until we get it all restored.
Not a whole lot going on in our world. Mallory and I have been fighting colds again. She had a follow up visit with the ENT who put her tubes in who did verify that one of them fell out. He says as long as there are no recurrent problems that they did their job. Joe has spent most of today painting her room now that we are moving towards getting her in a big girl bed. Not much new going on with Pierce either these days...he spends most of his time coloring still and we have artwork all over the house because of course all of his works of art are masterpieces.
