Joe and I took Pierce to the park in our neighborhood yesterday after work since it was our first really nice day of spring. He had so much fun and of course did not want to leave. While we were walking home Joe put him up on his shoulders and as we were walking he noticed our shadows. He says "I see daddy''s shadow, and Pierce''s shadow and mommy''s FIG FAT SHADOW"
32 week appointment update! My c-section is officially scheduled for May 15th at 9:30AM. Even though I pretty much knew this was the date, to actually have it scheduled has sent me into panic mode a little bit. The whole "c-section without having been in labor for 31 hours and not caring how the baby gets out" part of it is getting to me. But the baby''s measurements and heartbeat were great and I lost 2 lbs somehow this month so over all it was a good appointment.
Because I am quite possibly the world''s most anal (or paranoid) mother I bought something for Joe to put into the wall that will anchor Pierce''s dresser to the wall so that he can''t climb up on it and pull it over. I read enough scary stories in parenting magazines to lead me to this. Of course Pierce had to help daddy do this and of course I had to take pictures of it. They have been added to his March album. Also...stay tuned...Joe finally figured out how to add video onto our computer, so as soon as we get cute video of him (Pierce that is, not Joe) we will add it to the site.
We took Pierce to get his hair cut on Sat and for the first time ever he freaked out. Usually he could care less and he sits there fine until he is done. This time the clippers freaked him out and he kept saying "Get me outta here". Until I gave him a sucker (which scared the heck out of me) and then he was fine. And now I have a little boy again instead of a scraggly looking little gremlin!
Pierce probably has 100 books yet we seem to read the same 10 over and over. Ive noticed lately that he is "reading" along with us and that when we are done he wants to read to us. So he will take the book and flip through the pages and he knows the stories and the pictures so well that he actually gets some of the page right. It is really cute to hear him "read" Good Night Moon" to us before he goes to bed.
Joe spent all day yesterday painting Pierce''s room. No more lavender and mint green walls that went with his crib set. Now his walls match his big boy bed set with...of course...moon and stars. I added the pics to the March album. He was SO excited when he saw it and just talked non stop about the moon and stars that daddy painted on his walls. He loves it!
Pierce said something to me the other day that led me to believe he may actually "get" that a baby is coming. I know he knows there is a baby in my belly but he has never given me any indication that he had any clue that eventually she will come OUT and live with us. The other day he and I were in the car and he was telling me where everyone''s seat was in the car. He told me where his seat was, and where mommy sat, and where daddy sat. I asked him if Mallory can sit in the back with him and pointed to the other side of the back seat and he said "yes, when she comes out of your belly."
I just added some pics to the March 06 album of Pierce playing with his new toy. Joe and I figured that our little tax deduction should get something new out of our tax money too! He loves his new train set!!
