I took Pierce to see CARS on Monday. His first experience at the movies. He did "okay". Lasted only an hour and he did have to get up and wander a few times...but with only about 15 people in the theater I was okay with that. He is still doing really well with the potty! My sitter will be suprised and so happy when she gets back from vacation next week! Yesterday we went with my friend Jenn and her baby Camden to Dublins splash park which is basically just a place with fountains for kids to run through. He had a blast! I will eventually have pics in the June album. Mallory is starting to "talk" already...which I know is WAY to early at 6 weeks. I have a feeling Im in trouble with another talker on my hands. Joe and I will be nuts with 2 of them not ever shutting up.
Pierce is doing AWESOME on the potty! We are so proud of him. He only had one accident yesterday and he actually tells us when he needs to go! Who knew that he would be so good at it once we broke through the stubborness of "I cant want to go potty". Joe took him to the circus last night with his parents and sister. He was really good and even told Joe there when he had to go potty! New pictures in the June album....
Day #1 of potty boot camp was a success!! He only had 2 accidents today! I started first thing this morning and took him potty pretty much every 18 minutes all. day. long. Sometimes he went, sometimes he did not. When he did we put a sticker up on his potty chart and did the "potty dance" I put a pull up on him for his nap and it was wet when he woke up so Im going to put a diaper on him for bedtime instead of a pull up. He pretty much spent all day with no pants or underwear on...just ran around naked except for his shirt. Hey, whatever works!
Mallory had her one month check up today! The little piggy weighs 9.5lbs! Yeah!!! She is almost 22 inches! The weird thing...and this is something I never would have noticed...apparently she has a tendancy to favor her right side...meaning she looks to the right and holds her head to the right a lot. This is making the bones in her head shape just slightly weird, kind of like a flat head only to the right side. I cant really tell, maybe just a little when you look at her from the top. So we have to try and get her to focus more on the left and turn her head more towards the left...like during tummy time and stuff to try and correct it before it becomes a problem. Worst case is physical therapy at 4 months which I hope to avoid. Other then that...a healthy baby girl!! Im going gung ho with Pierce on potty training this coming week. Wish me luck. Im tired of changing adult size diapers.
Mallory can officially smile! I was waiting to make sure I was not crazy to tack an official date onto this but when I looked at Pierce''s baby book, he was smiling at 5 weeks too which is almost what she is. And we ALL know women are way smarter then men! She is doing that little baby wide open mouth smile when you talk to her and it is just so darn cute! Today, my mom and I took Pierce to Easton to let him play in the fountains (and to think I used to think this was trashy). There were tons of kids there today and he had so much fun. Bad mommy forgot to bring a towel and the only place I could find to buy one (while Pierce was shivering with blue lips) was Pottery Barn and it was still 20 bucks ON SALE. That will teach me.
Pierce apparently thinks he is the star of his own Broadway musical. The past few days he SINGS everything he says. "I want some juuuuuuuice" stuff like that. I dont know where he got it but it is super funny! Mallory is one month old today and I cant believe it. This coming Monday has me down to 4 weeks left before I have to go back to work. Unless we win the lottery between now and then of course. I wonder if it will be as hard to leave her as it was with Pierce?
Adventures with Uncle Dave....My brother in law generally does not have much to do with the kids until they hit about age 2. There must have been a full moon yesterday because he actually HELD Mallory!! There are some wonderful pictures of this miracle in the June album...please no one call children''s services!! Today Mallory got to have a photo shoot with her boyfriend Camden...my friend Jenn''s baby boy. I think they both thought we were nuts! Those pics are also in the June album.
Today was Joe''s first day back at work and Mallory and I miss hanging out with him. We had a pretty low key day...took a good walk and a good (okay, two) nap. I have some new pics to add but the site is having some issues with a new downloading tool it is using so once they get that fixed for me I will add on some new pics.
Last night Mallory had her first bath in the infant tub. She was not too sure how she felt about it, she thought about crying, she thought about falling asleep. But she did very good. And of course big brother was right there to help me bathe her! Today we took her into the Dr because she is starting to show some of the same signs that Pierce did as a baby when we found out he had reflux. The spitting up (buckets, it comes out her nose) the really bad hiccups every time she eats, and the fussiness when she is laying flat on her back. We are going to try her on Zantac which was a lifesaver for us with Pierce. That and propping her up at night with a wedge will hopefully help. Joe has to go back to work on Tuesday and Im sad. We have had a very nice 3 weeks hanging out together and getting stuff done around the house. He will probably take my debit card away when he goes since Mallory and I have a lot of lunch and shopping plans over the next few weeks!
