Joe got a phone call from Pierce''s school yesterday to come and get him because they thought he had pink eye. Thank goodness he does not, but he does have an ear infection. He went so long without one too! We are thinking he probably got it when we took him swimming last week. He seems to be fine though.
Mallory had her 2 month Dr visit today. She is getting SO big!! We still have to work on getting her to turn her head to the left because it is still not as flexible as it should be. Hopefully we will get this totally corrected by her 4 month visit so we can avoid physical therapy but he did say she is doing better with it then at her last visit. According to Joe....because I flew out of there beforehand...she screamed pretty good for her shots.
Pierce had a GREAT first day of school yesterday. He loved it, and of course they loved him. His teachers actually said that they hope his talking gets some of the other kids to talk more. Yesterday he got to use scissors, painted a turtle, had sensory time with noodles, and got to visit the fire station that is right next to the center on the base. He actually took a nap there too which really suprised me. I did not think for one minute that he would sleep on a cot with all those kids and toys around but he must have gotten really worn out! Speaking of sleep....Mallory SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT last night!! Im sure by typing that it wont happen again, and Im sure it WAS just a fluke...but we will see.
Today Pierce and I spent the morning at his new school. Both he and I loved it!! He quickly made friends with the cutest little girl in the class. As soon as we got their the kids were going out for "water play" He loved being outside with all the play ground stuff and sprinklers, ect. Then they came in and had story time....it was SO cute seeing Pierce sit on the mat with all his new friends to hear his favorite story that the class room happened to have. They read it just for "their new friend Pierce". I dropped him off at Joy''s for the rest of the afternoon. She started to get all teary on me knowing it was her last day with him, and of course then I started to get all teary. She will have Mallory, but I know she will miss Pierce. He liked his school so much that when Joe got home with him this afternoon he was pitching a fit that he wanted to go back! Hopefully he does as well on Monday when Joe takes him for the full day.
I am an aunt again!! Congrats to my sister Lee Ann and brother in law Mitch! Brian "Levi" was born on July 11th weighing 7.11lbs.
I have just added the pictures to the July album of when I took Pierce to the splash park a few weeks ago! There are also some pictures of our trip to COSI over the weekend. Pierce LOVED "driving" the back ho and seeing the other construction trucks.
Since Pierce has been doing so well on the potty (no accidents for awhile now) He went to spend the night with my mom last night. My grandparents got to spend some time with him and I guess he ran my mom pretty ragged. He had a great time and apparently did not want to come home.
Today we broke the news to our much loved sitter that on July 17th (the same day I go back to work) Pierce will be starting a preschool type day care. She was very understanding (especially since she IS getting Mallory, she knows it is not personal) and knows that we just want some structure and more child interaction and activities for Pierce since he is so darn smart. Our babysitter is awesome, she loves Pierce like her own, but she knows we want him to have story time, crafts, and lots of friends. So, I told him today that soon he will start "school" I told him about the fun stuff he will do, and all the new friends he will make (can you tell Im convincing myself more then him) and how much he will like it. So, tonight, I told Joe to ask him about it. "what are you going to do at school Pierce?" His response? "Meet girls" I have NO clue where this came from.
