The peanut finally hit 20lbs. We had to take her in to the Dr the other day to have her cough checked out since it was sounding croupy (must be fall) but all is well and we just had to up her puffs on the inhalor. We were excited to hear that she FINALLY weighs 20lbs.
Pierce and Mallory were both so excited to see Joe home on Sat. Mallory even clapped her hands! We went to my cousins wedding and I was all set for the kids to have a good time dancing and playing with their cousins. Not so much. Princess No Nap strikes again. Mallory only slept for 30 minutes on Sat...not good. So by the time the reception was going she was screaming her head off and saying BYE BYE. She would not let anyone but me and Joe touch her. Im guessing that her screaming BYE BYE over and over was her way of telling us she was ready to go. Sunday we just kind of hung out. We went for a walk last night and let Pierce ride his bike a little bit. He does pretty well but living in a neighborhood that is mostly hills is kind of a challange. Mallory''s little temper continues to amuse me. This morning while trying to pull Mallory''s hair up to keep it out of her eyes she got mad and threw her inhalor at me. Brat.
Joe has been out of town this week and he comes home tonight. The kids have been really good while he was gone but I can tell that they miss him. Pierce knows that he comes home today but he must have forgotten that it is not until later because he came in my room this morning asking if daddy was home. Even Mallory said "hi daddy" when she came in this morning. I hope that I do not jinx myself by saying this but for the past 3 nights she has let me put her down awake!! She complains for about 15 seconds and that is it!
I just realized that I had not updated this site in over a week which is a long time for me. Really there has not been too much going on. Pierce started swim school again last week (round 3 of the beginner level...hoping we pass this time). The weekend was not all that eventful...we went to the park on Sat and sure enough, 10 minutes after we got there Pierce tells me that he has to poop. We were closer to Aunt Brelle''s house then we were to ours so we headed there just to be safe. That turned into a little visit and a trip to Graters for ice cream (sorbet for Pierce). Mallory does not mess around with ice cream...she had her scoop finished way before Pierce did his. Speaking of Mallory....her newest funny is that every time she is about to do something that she shouldnt (such as climb onto the end table from the couch) and I say "Mallory, no no" she will sit down and say "YEAH" like she deserves a prize for listening. Really now that I am thinking about it she does this most times that you tell her to do something...this morning I told her to drink her milk and she took a swig and said "YEAH" Good girl sis.
what a weekend. Joe went to Chicago for the weekend and the kids must have known that something was different. I took them out to my mom''s last night to spend the night...not a good idea. Pierce woke up at 330 AM!!! Ready to "go downstairs and have breakfast". I was able to keep him upstair until 5. My mother was drug out of bed by 730 (I really could not feel sorry for her) and I went back to bed for about an hour. Pierce decided that even though he had been up since Dark O Cloch that he was not going to take a nap. So once we got home they were both just tons of fun. I put them both in the tub after dinner. I was backed up just enough to not get drenched from Mallory while she was splashing all of the water out of the tub when she held her hand out to me and said "here doh" and handed me a piece of poop. Yep, she took a big old crap in the tub. A first for her. I grabbed her so fast that I scared her and she then screamed for 15 minutes. Pierce thought the whole thing was hysterical of course. I cant wait for Joe to get home.
We had a great long weekend. Sat. night we spent with Joe''s side of the family for Gina''s baby shower. Pierce had fun roasting marshmallows and eating his (chocolate free ) smores. Sissy even had her first taste of (chocolate included) smores and she could not shove it down her throat fast enough. Yesterday we went to the zoo and the animals were SO funny. We were inside watching the gorillas and there was one window that we watched a mama and her baby together. The mama was just sitting there watching everyone and Pierce had his face shoved right up to the glass and all of the sudden the gorilla came running up and shoved her face up against Pierce''s. At first he fell back because I think she scared the hell out of him but when he realized that everyone was laughing he thought it was pretty funny too. There was a penguin who also put on a show...he kept coming up to the glass where Pierce and another little girl were and when Pierce started moving his stuffed flamingo (yes, you read that right) around the glass the penguin kept following it and kept up with every move Pierce made. Mallory as usual was a trooper in her stroller. We had the wagon with us for Pierce and she would only sit in it for about 5 minutes before trying to escape. She was NOT a fan of the merry go round and Joe wound up holding her the entire time. Speaking of things that go round....I noticed on her school sheet that the babies have been playing ring around the rosie. So I told Pierce to see if she would do it with him. SO CUTE. Of course she falls down once you get to "ashes ashes" but it is so sweet to see the 2 of them playing together like that.
