Home with a sickie Pierce today. His asthma has kicked into full gear! But, Im getting some stuff done...including adding camping pics in the Oct album. Some from a few weekends ago and the Yogi Bear ones from last month
It is a battle of wills with Mallory and Ms Amy at daycare. Ms Amy has never sent a kid to pre-school in diapers and I think she knows she is not dealing with just anyone with Mallory. She still has 6 months and I have not lost faith in her just yet but MAN is Mallory stubborn. Ms. Amy has her taking her own diaper off, she gets cleaned up and a new diaper goes on but then Ms. Amy has her putting her own pants on and that just pisses Mallory off. Apparently she stamped her little feet and yelled that she wanted her mommy for 15 minutes earlier this week because she had to pull her own pants up. I was asked to bring a pair of panties and a change of clothes to school for her today....I think the idea is to let her see what it feels like to be wet. I asked Mallory this morning if she was going to sit on the potty for Ms. Amy today and she looked at me and smiled and said "nope". And they say girls are easier to potty train then boys....Pierce was potty trained at 2 and a half and it only took me 2 days to do it!
Pierce had a great time camping this past weekend. He came home with a huge stash of goodies from his trick or treat night. I have pics but of course they are not up yet. Mallory, Joe and I also had a busy weekend. We played at Camden''s house Friday night, Sat night she spent some time at Aunt Jen and Uncle Jay''s house while Joe and I went and had a fabulous dinner to celebrate 6 years! Sunday we went to the Italian festival with Bumma and Pa and then had to go out to Newark to collect Pierce and wish Ashton a happy birthday! Another busy weekend that flew by!
Poor Sissy. I know I have mentioned her love affair with the moon (luna) before but it is not a good ride to school when luna is not out. She seriously is SO sad. We get outside this morning and both kids go right to the driveway to look for the moon---lots and lots of stars out this morning but no moon. You would have thought someone killed her puppy. Face all turned down in the saddest frown, trying very hard not to cry, tears welling up in her eyes and she says to me "Where my luna go?" It is hard to explain phases of the moon to a 2 year old but I told her that Luna was sleeping for a few days. We get to school and she is still all sad and she says to one of her teachers...."My luna not out today"
Seriously....can someone hand me a tissue?
We have had a very busy few days. Thursday we went to a fall festival that the base puts on at a greenhouse. The kids got to play in a hay maze, in a corn filled sandbox and take a hayride out to a field to pick a pumpkin. Mallory is in love with her pumpkin. I even had to let her keep it in her carseat Friday morning on the way to school. She kissed it goodbye that morning too. Yesterday the kids'' daycare had a picnic at the park where we had Mallory''s birthday party. All of the teachers were there but only a few kids that we knew which was strange...I kind of thought more kids would be there. But, Katie was there so Pierce was happy. After the picnic we headed out to a farm out by my mom''s for more pumpkin fun. There were all sorts of fun things for the kids to do, Mallory''s favorite was a rubber duck race (see the pics)and Pierce just ran around to everything he could find. Today was more low key, took the kids to a park while Joe was at drill. Pierce made friends with 2 cute little blonde twins....what guy would not want them chasing him around?
Poor Pierce kind of got a raw deal yesterday. Mallory was going on day 3 of a fever so we wanted to have her checked out again by the Dr. She still seems okay, they think maybe it is her 2 year molars trying to come in. Since Pierce was there though....."let''s go ahead and give him his flu shot" says the Dr. He was not to keen on the idea of getting a shot (can''t say I blame him) but he was very VERY brave and did not even cry! I dont even think I could get a shot without crying!
